Volunteering

Make a difference while building your own skills

Volunteering is a chance to give something back, but you can get plenty from the experience too.

At Rosario, we encourage young people to get involved in their communities, support causes they care about and use volunteering as an opportunity to learn.

Along the way, you can gain new skills and knowledge that you can take with you into whatever comes next.

Volunteering at Rosario and in the community

We provide different ways for young people to get involved.

That can include volunteering within Rosario Youth Centre itself or heading out into the local community to support charities and other causes.

The opportunities available can vary, giving young people the chance to experience different kinds of volunteering and find something they genuinely care about.

It isn’t about volunteering for the sake of ticking a box. We want it to be worthwhile for the people and communities being supported, while giving our young volunteers an experience they can learn from.

You won’t be expected to figure everything out by yourself.

Rosario staff support young people throughout their volunteering experience, with training and supervision also provided to volunteers.

It means you can try something new knowing there are people around to help.

Volunteering can also be a great way to meet people, discover interests and become more confident taking on new responsibilities.

International volunteering opportunities

When opportunities are available, Rosario has also supported young people to volunteer internationally.

These experiences give young people the chance to visit other countries, learn about communities around the world and see how other young people live.

International volunteering requires a serious commitment before the trip itself. Young people contribute towards the cost and fundraise the remaining amount, normally over a period of around 12 to 18 months.

That fundraising journey becomes part of the experience, with the eventual trip being something participants have worked towards over time.
